Summer 2010 in Anime: Ookami-san (Preview)

Well, summer's here, and my computer needs a new motherboard. But this blog isn't about my problems, it's about my problems with anime. Or something witty(?) like that. As usual, good old Chartfag give us the rundown. Not a lot of interesting titles save for a few (Cat Shit One? BRILLIANT).

The first show of interest to me is:

It's as if somebody took Aisaka Taiga and superimposed her head onto Horo from Spice and Wolf. Then they took the pink-haired schoolteacher from Index and put her in a blender with Strawberry Shortcake and Little Red Riding Hood.

Anyway, I haven't seen the first episode yet, but I will in a few hours or so from the time I post this. I can give you my expectations and predictions. That's right: I am such a good reviewer that I can already tell you if I'll love or hate a show without having to watch a second of it.

JC Staff always does comedy/slice-of-life/romance shows with the occasional supernatural story like Shana and Index. I have faith they'll deliver an entertaining story along with some fairly decent animation, being as popular as they are. I don't trust them enough to make a great show like Index or Toradora just like that, but judging from the picture and description, Ookami-san seems like it'll be fun enough to make up for the shit I'll have to watch this season (I am forever tsundere for Strike Witches). It also features an Ararararagi look-a-like.  Really, JC? At least the other characters were from your studio.

I couldn't tell them apart if I tried.

By the way, Happy Fourth of July.
